The 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine was split between a few people, but their discoveries are so cool! The labs discovered the “innate GPS” system in our hippocampus. This is really fun for me, because my dad loved maps and geography and driving around without directions (he rarely got lost! …or he rarely told us he was lost at any rate…). I have to wonder if his GPS was better than some of my friends who still don’t know how to navigate our school campus 🙂
But although it is very very interesting, I didn’t really understand why this was so important. I guess I’ll have to read into the papers!
